Activate Topeka lists events in Topeka. You can see every event without an account. We don't sell your personal information.
When you browse
- There are no ads and no outside analytics on this site.
- We count how often each event's page is opened and how often its buttons are used (Register, Add to Calendar, Get Directions), plus the kind of site that sent the visit, such as Facebook or a search engine. These are totals per event per day. They aren't linked to you or your device.
- Events you hide are remembered in your own browser, not on our servers.
- If you subscribe to our calendar, we count how many calendars check it each day and which calendar app they use. We don't know whose calendars they are.
- Our host, Cloudflare, receives your IP address when it delivers a page, as every web host does. When someone signs in or creates an account, we use the IP address to slow down repeated attempts.
Other services our pages use
- Fonts come from Google Fonts. On the Map view, the map comes from OpenStreetMap and its code from unpkg. Your browser contacts these services directly, so they receive your IP address.
- Links to Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze and organizers' own sign-up pages take you to those sites, and their privacy policies apply there.
The weekly email
If you sign up, we keep your email address to send you the week's events. Every email will have a link to unsubscribe.
Organizer accounts
Organizers who post events have an account. For each account we keep:
- your name and email address
- your password, stored in a form that can't be turned back into the password
- the organizations you manage, the events you post or change, and a record of those changes
- numbers you report about your events, such as how many people came
- photos and logos you upload, which appear publicly with your events and organization page
A cookie keeps you signed in for 30 days or until you sign out. Account emails, such as password resets, are sent through Resend.
Signing in with Google
If you choose to sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and Google account ID with us. We use them only to sign you in and to show your name on your account. Activate Topeka's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Event listings
Events and organization pages are public. Many listings are gathered from organizations' own public websites and event pages. An organization can claim its page to manage its listings.
Changes
When this policy changes, we'll post the new version here with a new date.
